Meet Our Team

Kevin Dell – Lead Minister

Kevin joined the WCC team in October 2021 as interim preaching minister and came on board full-time in June 2022. He and his wife, Kerry, have three adult children—Caleb, Nathan, and Ashley (Jaxon).  He and Kerry like to spend time with their kids, playing cards, attending concerts, watching movies, and contemplating life with God. Kevin holds degrees from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville (BA), St. Louis Christian College (BS), and Lincoln Christian University (MDiv, DMin).  For eleven years, he taught Spiritual Formation classes as an Adjunct, and later, Assistant Professor-at-Large at LCU.

 

 

Darrin Akin – Worship & Administration Minister

Darrin and his wife, Sandra, moved to Washington in March 2019. Darrin has also served at churches in Yuma, AZ, Lincoln, IL, and Danville, KY.  He grew up in Donovan, IL, and Sandy hails from Louisville, IL.  Darrin holds two degrees from Lincoln Christian University (BA, MA) and a Doctor of Worship Studies degree from The Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies in Jacksonville, FL.  He taught voice and worship as an Adjunct Professor at Lincoln Christian University for 2-1/2 years.  He and Sandy have four sons—Jonathan (Nicole), Andrew (Miyeon), Joseph, and Garrett—as well as three granddaughters: Autumn, Ariel, and Emery.

Mary Fisher – Office Administrator

Mary has been our church secretary since 1996. She and her husband, Jim, were married in 1975 and have been members of Washington Christian Church since 1979. Longtime Washington residents, Jim and Mary raised three daughters: Jamie (Mark) Thurman, Lindsey (Andrew) Hanes, and Laura Fisher (deceased). They also have six wonderful grandchildren: Katelyn (Thurman) Kramer & Grace Thurman and Isaac, Zachary, Micah, & Abigail Hanes; and two adorable great-grandchildren, Riley and Raelyn Kramer. In addition to her grandkids, Mary’s interests include card-making and watching the Cubs.

 

 

Jess Bochart – Children’s Ministry Co-Director

Jess serves as a Children’s Coordinator. Jess and her husband, Mike, have been married 27 years and have two grown children, Mackenzie (Paul) and Eric (Kayelyn). They have been members of Washington Christian Church since 2003. Jess enjoys baking, traveling, and volunteering in her free time.

 

 

 

 

Cindy Charlier – Children’s Ministry Co-Director

Cindy serves as a Children’s Coordinator. Cindy and her husband, Randy, have been married over 25 years and have made WCC their church home since 2014. Randy and Cindy have two grown children, Emily (Tim) and Evan, and two grandchildren. Cindy’s interests include volunteering in the community, traveling with her husband, and enjoying her grand blessing. Cindy’s desire is that all children will know they are wonderfully made in the image of God and they would love the Lord with all their heart.
